Just beautiful
When I saw this little moth sitting on the white towel over my trap at 5AM this morning I saved it because I thought it was a really well marked True lover's knot moth.
When I came to photograph it later I realized it was in fact a Beautiful yellow underwing Anarta myrtilli a species I have seen before on acid heathland, but never in my garden! it's pretty speckled green larva feeds on heather, which I guess is just as good in a sub urban garden as out on the heath.
