Ne'erday walk

Today was magical and a great start to the new year. Frosty blue sky, sunshine, a smattering of snow on the newly revealed hills and simply perfect walking weather. I could seriously have walked all day. This shot is of spruce trunks, revealing the scars sustained during recent felling, sitting high on the hill top overlooking Glen Turret with snow on its hills. After 3rd January the work will resume to remove the timber and the pathway will be blocked to walkers until the task is finished.

The family returned this afternoon from spending Hogmanay in Edinburgh and they are with me for one more night, returning home tomorrow leaving here quite early.
