1st and 500th! Double the fun!

500 blips!

Here are the kids, holding up their respective photos of themselves that my Dad took 5 years ago.

I knew 500 blips was coming up, but didn't keep a close eye on numbers regularly, so it was only today I realised my 500 milestone would be the same day as New Year's Day.

I would have liked to have taken a better photo - or a least thought of this shot whilst it was still daylight, instead of having to rely on electric lightbulbs. I would have liked to have had more time, instead of pushing the laid New Year's dinner table out of way (complete with lit candles), minutes away from dinner, and squatting on the floor, hot and bothered and worrying about the gravy and the yorkshire puds.

But all three kids looking at the camera with no obvious pain or torture inflicted on them: result!

I love these blipfoto milestones. Such a good idea. It's good to take stock now and then and look back, and pat oneself on the back for not using too many clichés in an entry! See how far you've come... such a journey... (HA! ;o) )

Richard worked on and off today, and this afternoon we took a little ramble around the village. I heard that New Year's Eve was unpleasant in the neighbourhood of one of my OU friends and it made me realise that any of one of us could so easily be living in an area where we don't feel safe, and we should appreciate what we've got.
Despite the weather, we live in a wonderful place and we mustn't forget how different things could be.

I want to say thank you to a handful of people who pop into my blip journal regularly and leave comments. I really am grateful for it, and every comment is appreciated - even if I don't get around to saying so. Some people are better at the comments and interaction than me (let's face it - most people are better at it than me!).
