Commuting with a packed lunch
Wednesday was a bit of a blur ... I went to George & Jean's early morning, planted a Trachelospermum jasminoides to grow up their arch, I think it will do well there, then did some staking, cutting back, & deadheading giving it all a general tidy up. Nipped out to Trago Mills to buy compost, picked up eggs from Pixywood, back to Mums for a quick cake & coffee. Back home for lunch then do a bit in the garden, thought I would start planting out the front border as we had some rain through the night. Not enough, the ground was still really dry so easier to keep plants watered in pots near the hosepipe for the time being.
Knowhow arrived with our new oven, they were fitting the new one & taking the old one away .. The oven was sitting proud, the spacer bar was the problem, they were'nt allowed to touch it in case something else got damaged, so I rang the landlord, he nipped down from Exeter, ripped it out, new oven was fitted and they were gone.
Went up the allotment, watered, fed, then had a go at the broad beans. Cut all the plants back near the base/to some side shoots, fed with blood, fish, and bonemeal then watered. It will be interesting to see how it goes. The plants look healthy enough. :) Picked loads of veg, lifted another row of spuds, eventually leaving the site at 7pm. I love it up there.
I was hoping to snap the very large flock of pigeons that periodically take off from the corn field behind the allotment site for my commuting Blip, but it was'nt to be and I was running late so it had to be this chap commuting with his lunch.
Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting
