Fritillary

The vast majority of butterflies I have seen here down by the river have been fritillaries. Today has seen a welcome drop in the temperature but it has been very muggy. The thunder has been rolling around the mountains this afternoon and the rain has arrived with some fresher air which is very pleasant.  I received an email from the British Embassy saying they could not send an official to the Entente Cordiale celebrations as the Embassy is too busy in September.  As there will be French officials present, this could be very embarrassing so I have asked them for further suggestions and sent an email to the Prime Minister's office expressing our surprise and disappointment.  I wonder if it has anything to do with Brexit!
