First French ringer
Daniel has the accolade of being the first French ringer of English church bells in France. After a trip to the chemist for more mosquito repellant, I took a bell ringing teaching session. Daniel can now ring unaccompanied so we practised some dodging and I got him to ring the nine tailors as if someone had passed away (the sound insulation was shut!). This requires three slow rings of three separated by a longer pause and requires good bell control. He made a reasonable fist of it. Mrs TT has got back in the saddle after 25 years and it is getting the hang of ringing again. Steve is putting handstroke and backstroke together and has just begun to ring without me touching the rope to guide him. The afternoon was spent avoiding the heat and helping to prepare a meal for guests tonight.
