Marple Bridge

Peter and I repeated the Marple Bridge walk, featured on www.superlative-walks.com. After coffee at Roman Lakes, we crossed the "Roman Bridge" which may be a bridge but is certainly not Roman.  It was built in the 18th century. Until the 1860s it was known as Windy Bottom Bridge. Who knows why the Victorians changed the name?
