Summer in the city
Whiled away the time before my (delayed) train by enjoying the sunshine in Princes Street Gardens. Managed to find a shady bit and just sitting & watching.
Earlier I escaped the eat for a bit by visiting the Bridget Reilly Exhibition. Enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to - her pictures are very clever with all sorts of patterns emerging the more you look at the them. It made me feel slightly dizzy at times. Not only was it cool but it was also wonderfully quiet.
In today's other news I was forced to give into heat and wear shift dress as a dress rather than as a tunic over trousers as is my usual wont.
Train is blissfully air conditioned & suspect a refreshing gin may be in order on arrival to Pitlochry.
Update: apparently it was the hottest day ever in Edinburgh (or at least since records began).
