"Mr. Pye, you are very late!"

Dear Diary,

Everything in the garden is late this year.  My Joe Pye is just starting to bloom now.  Our hesitant spring is to blame I think.  The warm weather is back but not nearly as bad as the heatwave we recently had.  The nights are cool and the humidity is tolerable.  Just typical summer weather.  I'll take it!
