World record attempt

This is Richard Thoday who is attempting to break a World record riding from Lands end to John o groats on a penny farthing in 5 days , or less !
We were going to catch him leaving North Kessock but when I checked the tracker this morning at 7pm he had already left and heading for the Cromarty Bridge.
The weather was awful , thunder and lightning and heavy rain.We decided to try and catch him up, he was still travelling at some speed even in those conditions.
The tracker was playing up so we were not sure where he was but we knew he was heading up the A9.We eventually caught a glimpse, his safety lights flashing in the distance.We pulled into a lay by and waited for him to go past, he even gave us a wave. One of his support crew were also parked up taking a few photos :)

We went to Morrison’s for breakfast and a shop so now have enough dinners for the rest of the week.
The excitement did not stop there as they were filming the semi final of ‘Landscape painter of the year ‘ in Cromarty.Fascinating to watch how it was done, lots of crew and cameras.Just managed to see some of the judges and presenters before they headed off for pizza. The painters remained at their posts and had a take away instead ;)
Some great work so looking forward t watching it later in the year.
Another hot day , the thermometer read 28 degrees at one point but it did not feel as muggy.
So Boris Johnson is our new Prime Minister with basically a brand new cabinet.We’ll have to wait and see how that goes !
Update, the world record has been broken and Richard to still smiling , a fair amount raised for Children in need and hopefully more to come, nearly at £7,000 now :)
