War Memorial

Warm work today as we continued our visits to an area we are planning some Orienteering courses in. Surprised to come across this war memorial. Not sure if the props were real or whether replacements from the local woods had been fashioned.

Other than that came across a dead sheep where the flesh had gone but bizarrely the fleece was still partially in place with the very white skull exposed ......rather gruesome but strangely fascinating to see it gradually receding into the landscape.

Thoughts now turning to a trip northwards to the Scottish 6 days Orienteering. Unfortunately the weather is not looking good.
