Snapshots of my world

Freedom Reigns!!

New classroom done and dusted! Yippeee! It's great to know it is all sorted and ready for September. It's a much bigger classroom than my previous one!! I have been able to make some areas which can reflect the play based learning they're used to finding in Reception alongside the more formal nature of Year 1. I am hopeful that the bright setup will embody the happy learning environment school should be...we shall see! (See extras if you're at all interested in the final result.)

To celebrate finishing I headed to Copley where I parked up by the canal and walked to Sowerby Bridge. It's still hot but a slight dip in temperatures before they soar again tomorrow. It was a lovely temperature for my canal stroll and treat cappuccino from Gabriel's which I had whilst reading the paper...about the heatwave lots of it too!

On another note, the thunder and lightning in the early hours of the morning was absolutely spectacular!! The sky was lit purple with the lightning and the sudden increase in wind made the torrential rain hammer against the windows. It did wake me so I opened my curtains to enjoy the show...only I must have fallen back to sleep fairly quickly and woke this morning to my curtains still wide open. :-P
