Mayfield Lavender farm, Bandstead, Surrey.

The previous time we visited this fantastic lavender farm, it was sweltering sunny weather.
This time it was pouring with rain!
The whole farm is an ocean of purple lavender that you need to experience, but be careful if you are allergic to bees!! It is buzzing with them.
Feeling adventurous we walked up one of the paths between the vast and amazingly lovely clumps of purple lavender as there were less active bees due to the rain. We got soaked but it was so wonderful. They had also planted beautiful fields of wildflowers and red poppies mixed in with them as a tribute to the war heroes.
We brought home a few bags of lavender and I put mine under my pillow.
It really gave a very peaceful aromatic sleep.
