end of an era

Preschool has been entirely lovely for Zeke so it was hard to say goodbye... but lots of fun too. Zeke announced that he’d like to be a shopkeeper when he grows up (less ambitious, although more realistic, than his friend who wanted to be a vampire). The lovely women who run the preschool sobbed just as hard as they sobbed during Eve’s farewell assembly - I’m so grateful for those women who give it their all and fall in love with the children every year, knowing they have to give them up.

Meanwhile up the road, Eve was saying farewell to y2. And I’m pleased to say she was a little bit sad to say goodbye - she’s growing to love school.

Miss Eve’s legs have grown far too long for her uniform and her wrists look lanky hanging out of her cardigan. So it’s time for baggier uniforms which they’ll sneakily outgrow right beneath our noses. But first, a good long rest for two tired children.
