Hogmanay 2012

A trip to Ocean Terminal with my 3 girls for a spot of lunch and retail hankypanky.

When I was a slip of a lass, my mum and dad made us clean the house on Hogmanay. We had to empty the bins before the bells - and were thrust out the back door (with a bottle each) to stand in the cold at the front door to be allowed back in by my dad after the bells. We had to put on clean clothes for the event and were allowed up to silly o'clock. We knew all the neighbours and would wander in and out of peoples houses till dawn.

I probably hated it as a teenager - preferring to be with my friends, but looking back on it - it was the best of times.

Back home to prepare for Hogmanay at A's house. This is an annual event - but there were a few regulars missing who headed up north this year instead. You were missed !

Great times at A's house. Loads of friends and their big kids. A few new faces (love interests!!) and we managed to totally embarrass our kids with our Old Fogie dancing. Aye - these young ones think they know it all ! But 'Relax' was only ever done properly by Frankie (and his 18 inches).
