Cala Pedrosa

A mini adventure today for Chris and I and a walk down memory lane.
Grace and John wanted to take Eda for a last trip to the beach and so we drove about 5 miles up the coast to the pretty little town of Tamariu which always reminds me of a Cornish cove.
Coffee and croissant on the promenade as people bustled to get places on the beach and then we set off across the beach to walk to Cala Pedrosa. 35 minutes away according to the map, on one of the GR routes.
This is where selective memory comes in.
I always remember this walk as a walk through the Tamarinds. No idea why as I’m not sure we saw any.
Also the overriding memory is of the shady trees with wonderful scent and being high above the blue Mediterranean  before descending into the tiny secluded cove of Cala Pedrosa.
All that was there but I don’t remember the scramble across the rocks in one bay even though we were following the red and white ‘way marks’ and climbing up over fallen trees to slippery steep sandy tracks. At the other end of course there was a steep zig zag the down into the cove but that wasn’t too bad.
When we arrived the little shack that sold drinks and olives (Chris’s first time for eating them) had grown into a pretty little cafe so we stopped for lunch before attempting the treck back.
Many people of course arrive by boat so it’s not too bad for them but I did feel sorry for the group of scouts arriving all carrying their packs. (Also of note the nude male bathers weren't there this time hiding behind the rocks not that that’s why we returned!!)
We returned taking a slight detour up to the road to avoid the rocky cove and rewarded ourselves with ice cream before returning to Calella.
Really glad we did it again.
Sadly it’s our last day, where did that time go! Still we have a lot of drink to finish off tonight so the holiday isn’t quite over!
