Journal 2013

I keep a handwritten journal, using refill pads in a leather binder. It feels great to remove but keep for reference the old year's diarypad; to look back and see how little snow we actually had last winter, how good our summer weather on Arran actually was, to note which books I read and which gigs I attended as well as the joys of radio 4.

But it is a lovely thing to open the first crisp page of a new journal; I am going to fill it with my 'state of the nation' resume, before going on to outline my hopes for the coming months. I do wonder how this sits with simply 'being': I'm reading Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now and am mightily impressed, but I wonder if journal keeping makes it too easy to reference the past?

Anyway, I'll be journal keeping , blipping and trying to 'be' throughout 2013. Onwards!
