After Fire

I managed to find quite a variety of subjects today, from wide shots to close up, but in the end voted for this scene of charred debris left over from the bonfire. I think it was the black ash that attracted me, against which the colours of unburnt wood, twigs, nuts and stone appear quite rich. I like the random arrangement of elements that add up to a chaotic pattern, but ultimately I think it's about texture.

Earlier it had rained, at last, and I went to photograph when it stopped. The first thing I saw were the Shasta Daisies which stood out starkly against the dark wet earth and foliage, the light still quite dim. So they are my extra today. I liked the raindrops.
