Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2013!

We woke up in Hanmer Springs (see yesterday's blip) and took a drive to the river for some exploring and photo opportunities. Here are two views, one taken just after crossing the bridge as shown in the other photo - iconic NZ scenery!

The bridge is the historic Waiau Ferry Bridge (details here for bridge fanciers). It does rather freak me driving over it as the gorge below is so far down. Not sure I wanted to know it was THAT old. You can bungy the 35m if you fancy it.
