Boats at Monet's Garden

Visiting Monet's Garden at Giverny was going to be the highlight of our river cruise. However I was disappointed! Despite us being there at the earliest possible time it was still crowded and it was almost impossible to get a photo which resembled the famous painting. There are two bridges at each end of the lake and at all times there were people standing on both bridges taking snaps of the other bridge. I did manage to get one picture where I managed to clone out some bright orange trousers. Also the vegetation has grown so much that there is not much of the bridge to be seen. This is in extras together with one showing how full the bridge was for most of the time.

After lunch we went ashore to cross the river so that we could get a picture of the old mill at Vernon. It is the remains of a C16th wooden flower mill. After a wander around the pleasant town we returned to our ship the Swiss Ruby. We were amused by how small it looked beside the Viking ship. The advantage of being on the smaller ship was that we could cruise around Paris, under the low bridges, last Saturday evening.
