Texas

We traveled to Kemah (that's like Key-Muh) Boardwalk today. I think we all expected the boardwalk from Beaches in our minds..but this place was far from it. We went too early and it was cold, windy, and we were quite literally the only people there. This boardwalk, while it's an attraction, is the kind of boardwalk that at one point was nothing but a dock along the bay. Then one day a wealthy man bought the property and hired a large architecture firm to industrialize the hell out of it. Now it's a theme park with overpriced souvenirs. I'm glad we went because I always would have wondered. They have an outline of Texas cemented in the ground with stained concrete (I LOVE stained concrete) and this is the star on the map, marking Kemah's location. The shadow is dancing in the middle of Texas because she's thinking about how excited she is to get out of it.
