Ice sculpting.....

I had a fantastic afternoon watching this talented man creating ice sculptures as part of the Fire and Ice Festival in Kaiapoi.

Victor Cagayat is originally from South East Asia, he used to carve in wood. These days he's flown all round New Zealand to create ice statues. The ice used has to be able to withstand the chainsaw and chisel and is sourced from Christchurch. Tonight the sculptures will be illuminated for the night market. He made four statues, wonder if you can guess what they are?

I've popped a few in extras as I had a hard time deciding on what to blip.

Saturday.....it's been a cracker day, more like spring with the temperature reaching 18C!

This has now become a backblip as I simply ran out of time last night.
