Relief!

The FIL's 90th birthday celebrations went off as well as could be expected. Despite the main road being closed this morning on our way to Castle Bromwich (we knew it was serious when the bus ahead of us did a three point turn) and initially being given a table next to the toilets in the restaurant, the FIL clearly enjoyed the day. He said he would have appreciated more sunshine, and for some reason insisted on checking to see if there was any football on the TV when we suggested it might be time to cut the cake. Overall though a success. I wonder how much of it he will remember tomorrow!
