A Bird in the Hand...

...is worth two in the bush.

I was "talking" to a doe who was about 20-25 feet away from me. I wanted her to come closer, and I offered her my handful of peanuts and seeds. "C'mon Sweetheart, I've got goodies." Just then, something "buzzed" my left ear...scaring me, and I flinched and closed my hand. It was this red-bellied woodpecker.

I apologized to the bird, and held out my hand again, and he landed. With the challenging light in the forest, I took 40-45 shots, and only 3 were in focus.
