A Not-So-Plain Crane Named Elaine

Elaine had some questions for her parents Jane and Wayne.

She yelled to her family,
she yelled to her flock.
"HEY MOM! HEY DAD!
Can I go out on this dock?"

They said no.

I don't know if I'm a swimmer,
I don't know if I can float.
She yelled again to Mom and Dad...
"HEY GUYS...CAN WE GET A BOAT?"

They said no.

"So...you won't get me a boat,
or something with horsepower.
But, don't I just look darling...
in these purple flowers?"

They said yes.

Elaine was spotted in front of Petts Lake, where (many years ago) our friend Amos lost his dentures when he was water skiing. But, that's a story for another time.
