Bangkok: new year offering

We are on the first day of a visit to Thailand, Laos. Cambodia and Vietnam. We went for a rather sleepy jet lag walk and were surrounded by people celebrating New Year. Here they are making offerings to Buddha. Very atmospheric and peaceful.
