Peering at the Pier
We drove to Sandsend, this took about an hour from the hotel.
Interesting to drive towards Whitby from this route as opposed to the one from home.
Parked up and walked along the coastal path into Whitby.
One of those days where it was hot and dull, sometimes with grey cloud, sometimes with sun and also the threat of rain.
Not too many people about until we got down to the harbour where there were plenty of tourists milling about.
Saw that there was a lot of work going on at the pier to reinforce it but managed to get some shots as there were parts still open.
I’ve photographed here before but in winter and at dusk with no people so it was interesting trying to dodge other folk who also wanted to walk there.
It suddenly felt like rain and l hadn’t got a raincoat ( left at home) and my jacket was in the car boot. Looked in a few shops but couldn’t find what l wanted for the price l wanted .
Saw a charity shop and within minutes had found a black vintage trench coat, it fit nicely and even though it wasn’t what l had in mind l really liked it .
Saw many others hadn’t liked it much as it was reduced to half price so l bought it for £6:50.
Came out of the shop and typically the sun was shining, never rained at all; infact it became warmer and sunnier as the day went on.
We walked back on the beach and drove to Yarm and had a look along the very nice high street there.
Only thing l bought was some stronger anti histamine as my hay fever has peaked.
Back at the hotel now, feet up before we get ready for dinner.
I’ve not eaten since breakfast as that set me up for the day but l’m hungry now, food here is fab but richer than my normal diet so l soon feel full.
Have put some extras on if you have time to look.
