Day 190/19. Another day, another Spitfire.
Out and about this morning I dropped into the cafe at Solent Airport (Lee on the Solent) for a coffee in the sun. And, co-incidentally, there was another Spitfire for me to photograph. (see yesterdays picture).
Today's Spitfire was doing a flight and I managed to get a reasonably good in-flight picture. Lovely.
This Supermarine-designed aircraft was built originally by the British Vickers-Armstrong company at its Castle Bromwich factory as one of 103 Spitfire Mark IXs constructed to Government contract ‘B981687/39’. ‘SM520’ was signed-off as complete, new, on November 23, 1944.
