Le Grand Tour de Bretagne - Jour 1

Leaving Portsmouth Harbour aboard the St Malo ferry. And so the adventure begins...


Beautiful warm sunny day, just the right weather to start our road trip.

First stop of the day: Salisbury to visit the market, run a few last minute errands, visit Mompesson House, and Salisbury Cathedral.

Second stop of the day: Mottisfont Abbey near Romsey

Third stop: despite getting lost in the outskirts of Southampton (happens every year!), made it safely to Portsmouth and boarded the ferry for St Malo, where I celebrated the start of the holiday with the customary glass of rosé and a chocolate mousse!
