View from Near Point summit.

Today, for the 4th of July, we decided to take a hike and did not get an early start. With record heat the climb up was very hot and only at the top was there a welcome breeze. Super unusual weather for Anchorage- hot and dry. It should be mid 60s, if we are lucky, for the 4th. Instead the thermometer was in the high 80s, even low 90s, a record. The "green" mountains are likely from the snow that melted not so long ago. A second photo shows my husband reaching the top and Anchorage below.
