Rooftops

I am finding the architectural features of this area fascinating, particularly the rooftops. Today we were on our way to another castle and driving up a road with lots of really tight hairpin bends. Here we were able to look down on some rooftops so I just had to ask my driver to stop. As it turned out we shouldn't really have been on that road but we must have missed the sign.

Road skillfully negotiated by John. At the top there was a height barrier of 2.5m across the road - we are 3.1m! It's to stop vehicles that are too big to negotiate the bends going down. We were already UP!

However, John had a look and thought we could just get under it or we could get across the grass verge. I was out of the van watching the progress under the obstruction. It just touched our top but we were through! We returned a different way!

Now on a site outside Koblenz. We are sandwiched between a railway and a river - both very busy! Noise might be an issue. We shall see.
