Tyneside distraction

No, I’ve not been taking my mind off the pain by going to a daytime film for the elderly. I was sitting below this old poster in the Tyneside cinema cafe where I met Marion for a lunchtime catchup, before she’s off for the summer to her house in France.

Just walking down there caused great pain in my arm, and walking back up to the acupuncturist was worse.

The jury is out on her - I got there to find the friend who had recommended her in the waiting room. His appointment was the same time as mine. Luckily I had her text to show her as she had double-booked us. It was agreed I’d get my pins stuck in then she’d see to him. Apparently I have extremely weak tricep muscles and this has meant my neck has been doing their work, and over time this has caused the nerve pain. She also said using walking poles was bad as they caused neck strain. Also all my drugs were wrong as they’d only work in the short term, lead to addiction if used for more than a week, and this problem could go on for months.

I can see I was naive in expecting quick relief, but it’s all hard to accept. I’m not to do computer work or lift anything with that hand. (The physio had conflicting advice, saying to carry on as normal as much as I could.). Oh and I have to get a swimming teacher to learn backstroke, as that’s what’ll build up the deficient muscles.

As I walked back to the car I wondered what was jabbing me. Mr C kindly removed a needle from my shoulder.

I see her again on Monday, and my GP for the first time tomorrow. It is 2 weeks now. Help!
