Kirby Lonsdale

We stopped for lunch at Barbon en-route to Kirby Lonsdale, for 2 nights to celebrate Hilda & Bill’s Golden Wedding anniversary.
The forecast is great for the weekend but it can change at anytime in the Lake District.
We stopped for ice cream at the bridge and I was surprised to find a mobile home exactly the same as ours, right down to the upholstery. The guy who owned it was very proud of it and obviously looks after it well and is spending a few months on the road wild camping, with his mate who had a similar van, parked next to him.
The cottage we’re staying in is beautiful, a few miles outside town, with sheep up to the garden fence.
Nick, Vicky and the boys arrived at tea time and we sat outside playing games in 24C. Supper was fish and chips, mushy peas and curry sauce.
We were trying to pace ourselves on the first night.
