Bill’s garden

This morning I was in Lewisham co running a workshop, which was fun, but I was clock watching towards the end as I needed to get home early.
We were going to Liverpool and I needed to be there by 8pm for the England women’s World Cup quarter final. We left at 3pm with me telling R that at 7.30 we would be stopping at a motorway service station if necessary as it wasn’t going to miss this game.
This journey is notoriously bad for us and last summer I got so fed up of sitting in traffic jams we came off the motorway and found a nice village and booked into a hotel overnight.
Today we had some hold ups, but I put my foot down on the M6 toll, (100mph), and we got to Liverpool in a record 4 hrs.
Enough time to have a beer in the garden and then watch a fantastic game where England beat Norway 3-0. So so happy.
Let’s hope no speeding tickets are on their way.
