Stepladder photography

I planted two perennials last year, which this year have decided to go tall.

I had a look at the flower heads this morning, which required me to get out the stepladder, as they are ten foot off the ground. Our sparrows think they are trees and keep landing on them, but they have "give" and have not broken. I must find out what the plant is - it begins with "T" is all I can recall. 

Despite the very dark background (that's a hedge) it has been a largely sunny day, the warmest of the year so far.

NB Almost a week later, I think I’ve found the answer to “T”. Thalictrum, or (a type of) Meadow Rue,
