Our Camp Mascot
24 hours into our very first RV adventure! We learned last evening when we arrived that a new batch of Killdeer chicks had just hatched that day, so you know that I was determined to find them at some point today. So stinking cute!
We started the day renting a rowboat and going out into the lake to fish (well, Hubs was fishing, I was trying to catch dragons in flight over the water which was an epic fail.) Still, it was a lovely way to start the day. The camp site we are staying in is really perfect - beautiful grounds with wooded trails and a nice big lake. After a leisurely morning, we headed back to the rig, had lunch and nap before I headed out to find the killdeer.
Meanwhile, Hubs was trying to sort out the gray, black and fresh water. It all made perfect sense when mom and dad showed everything to us and explained it, but now it isn't making nearly as much sense. Hubs has been scouring the internet, reading manuals, and trying to figure out how it all works. We don't want to call mom and dad because they are off on their own adventure this weekend at a big national geocaching event.
Yesterday on our way here, we made a wrong turn and ended up on a narrow dead end road - which mean that Hubs had to back this 37 foot motorhome to a place where we could turn around - hair raising! Glad we weren't towing my car.
Right now we are having a massive thunderstorm, so very happy to be safely tucked into our RV for the evening. May rent kayaks in the morning, depending on the weather. And, of course, we will have to head back home mid-day.
Thanks for stopping by!
