Oor Freddie

A coach trip to Broughty Ferry today with the Macular Group in Perth.  We started with a delicious lunch in a local hotel and then the coach dropped some people in town to look round the shops and others at the Castle.

I chose the Castle and a walk along the beach and spotted this version of Oor Wulie dressed as Freddie Mercury.  The beach walk was lovely (see Extra) although very breezy, which blew the cobwebs away!

We should have left Broughty Ferry by 3.30 pm, but one of the ladies in the group who went shopping failed to appear, so the coach driver went back to the hotel and then into town again to see if we could find her.  Still no sign of her by 4.30 pm, so the coach had to return to Perth without her, leaving one of the sighted volunteers to make further enquiries.  We were all very worried for her safety, but heard later that she had got lost and taken a taxi home, thinking she'd been abandoned.  The poor lady must have been very frightened (and very out of pocket!)

The delay meant TJ and I were late for drinks with some of the neighbours, but we soon caught up with the chat and had a very pleasant evening.
