More Poppies

Apparently that's 500 blips for me now, though I'm still way, way behind the heavyweights on here!

I had in mind to make a clipping mask image with Photoshop Elements, just to show it can be done. I spotted these poppies this morning on our way to Castle Bromwich to see the father-in-law, so we stopped on our way home to get them in the evening light. I've put the full image in as an extra, I actually like it more than the main image, but it doesn't get the 500 message across of course!

We're having a difficult time with the FIL. He ended up in hospital (twice) last week and as we were on holiday we spent a huge amount of time on the phone talking to GPs, carers and hospital staff to get him sorted out.  I checked the discharge notes for the first stay today, and found he was sent home, alone, in a taxi, at 1.30 in the morning, with a packet of antibiotics. An 89 year old with Alzheimer's!  The second visit was in a 999 ambulance. Apparently he was in a totally confused state, claiming he had visited the moon (that's one of his regular memories now) and also Mars (that's new to us). We've managed to make arrangements for carers and district nurses to visit him 4 times a day for a week to make sure he finishes his medication, and he seems much better now, though we had the moon story again today.  The whole episode has convinced us that we need to find a care home soon, though it's going to be a battle to get him to leave home.
