Butterfly trip - Day 2
This morning we visited Howe Park Wood near Milton Keynes, in search of the Wood White. We didn’t find it but given the dull weather it wasn’t surprising. We moved on to Blean Wood near Canterbury in Kent looking for the Heath Fritillary but didn’t find that either. The weather wasn’t too bad in Kent, but it turns out that we were looking in the wrong part of the reserve – we took the wrong path and got ourselves lost. We will return before the end of the trip.
Butterflies seen today:
Painted Lady (main blip)
Speckled Wood
Red Admiral - in extras
Meadow Brown
We also heard a nightingale sing and spotted a jay.
