Christmas feast
I have no idea HOW I managed to get up for this day but I am so happy for everyone I could. (I think the Rioja helped considerably).
I had snails to start, pasta for in between, roast duck and morello cherries for main - I had trifle for pudding - I think I managed one mouthful and as for the mince pies... Well I just couldn't. We were promptly presented with about 60 or even 80 mince pies (boxed) to take home and a bucket of left over meat for the dogs...
The Valle D'oro certainly know how to put on a spread. Husband needn't have carried out his panic emergency everyone expects tea at ours after trolley dash which he did Christmas Eve. Everyone was far too full to manage another morsel.
I think we dragged our full bellies to bed by 10 after an evening of opening pressies.
Yet again I have had amazing presents. I am so excited to go and see them all again when I can at last walk around properly. A visit to the dining room appears a marathon trek at the moment.
I hope everyone enjoyed the day. It was unusual for husband and I not to cook but on this occasion it was a very very good job we had booked in next door. He could not possibly have cooked for everyone on his own - although I know he would have very well i would have felt terrible its s big pressure and He needs a break too. It's almost as though we had a subliminal premonition we would not be able to cook this year.
Well at least we are all together for christmas day and apart from my stupid back we are all fit well healthy n happy. And for that we can all be very grateful.
