La serenissima (now with extras)

I've changed the cover photo and added some extras now I'm back at my computer.

These are all taken in the Dorsoduro area where we were staying.

The cover photo is looking east down the Rio del Ognissanti after we had stumbled across a wine shop serving incredibly cheap drinks - a  weird rarity for Venice - three Camparisodas for just €6. So although the place is in many ways choked by tourists there are still local residents who are remarkably friendly.

To Venice on the high speed train. Must be twenty years since I’ve been. We kept away from the crowds as much as possible. Still beautiful and intriguing. More on this tomorrow.
