Tributes
Deadwood is a real tourist town with gaming machines included. We had fun here and even spent time in a bar. After dinner we heard music coming from down the block and ventured in. A young guy was singing and playing his guitar and playing whatever was requested. The drinks were cheaper than at home so we sat and listened and sang. A German tourist requested Sweet Home Alabama and that went down a treat with the audience. The young man did very well in tips.
In the morning we made our way to Mt Moriah Cemetery and wandered among the graves. I like reading the pioneers life stories especially the women who get 'Wife' and nothing else recorded about them. Many children died of illness. People are still leaving tributes on Calamity Jane's grave.
Next appointment was at Mt Rushmore. To get there it was a pretty drive through the Black Hills. It can't be peak visitor time yet and we easily found parking and walked the paths in relative peace.
