Jukola - orienteering happening is where some 20.000 people take part to orienteering relay competition.

This time held in Kangasala, Raikku. Next year Jukola orienteering competition will be held in Rovaniemi.
The happening is always a night competition, and everyone can go and compete against the Finnish or world's best athletes here. The best competitors run the whole 75km relay route in about 7 hours. The slowest competitors take their time and even walk through their route woods. My daughter's study friends from the university were one of the teams. I was following their orienteering from live service of the competition and feeling so tensed. I was so sure at first that one of their team members had got lost, but of course no... It only took 13 hours to manage the route.
