NY Street Art

Graffiti and Street Art is everywhere in NY and is aesthetically so much more interesting than looking at brick walls and run down buildings. It’s used decoratively, practically and politically and I should think you could spend months here just photographing graffiti.
This morning, as it was forecast to rain, we all went our separate ways for a couple of hours,. R to the Whitney, Mum to MOMA, and me to the Museum of Art and Design. The majority of what I saw was on the Punk Era, not really my scene, but I did listen to a few tracks on Ian Dury LP and Clever Trevor brought it all back. I also learnt a bit about the album covers of the era and relived some of the politics. Thatcher in particular in the UK.
We met R at Washington Sq for lunch and then as it brightens up wandered around Little Italy, China Town, Bowery and the Lower East Side. There’s just so much to see and hear and smell!
