Intoxicating.
I thought a good description of our morning spent it Mannington Hall.
It is one of our favourite places in Norfolk, and today visit was to seethe Heritage Rose Garden.
The weather was fine, and the sun shone.
The perfume was incredible. Intoxicating.
I’m sure the rain had increased the strength of perfume.
We certainly weren’t disappointed.
Favourite rose was a deep red which turns to a beautiful purplish maroon with age.
A modern shrub rose but very much like an Old Rose with an exceptional strong perfume.
Named “ Chianti “. Perfect for wine lover me!
I am going to buy one when I get home.
Only coffee for lunch after another huge breakfast.
Then down to Ranworth Broad, where we had a walk and finished up at the bird hide.
Lovely watching the grebes with their young ones.
Also nice to see the paddle steamer sailing past.
Now at our B&B in Neatishead. A lovely little village near Barton Broad.
They bake pizzas in an outside oven on a Friday evening, so that is our evening meal sorted. A bottle of wine bought from the village shop.
Great end to our short holiday, and the sun is shining!
Have included a few extras.
