Christmas!

--backblip--
It is Chrismas, finally! Endless days of waiting (for me anyway)and it's finally here! Christmas day had everything a good Christmas occasion should; Family, laughter, dancing, yummy food, wine and TOYS! It was missing a few people, though. I do really miss my family and friends in the states so much during the holidays (and always). I did get to speak to them on the phone but it's just not the same.

Chickpea was a bit overwhelmed with the present opening I think. She took it very slowly and played with toys in between instead of ripping through them. I imagine this will be the last year I can make that claim and it's definitely a good thing! Monkey was uninterested in the opening bit and just wanted to play with all of the toys and packaging. I don't blame him. They both got some well-loved toys and gifts from the family and from us-- I think one of Chickpea's favourites was necklaces and bracelets that Rubie made for her (about 10) that she decided to wear all together, had some difficulty parting with at night-time and she would not get dressed in the morning until she had them all on again. Other highlights were butterfly fairy lights for her bedroom, Gruffalo skittles, a teeny tiny clippy handbag, and a little backpack full of fun little toys that Rubie picked out. Monkey liked his eggs the best I think, or anything Chickpea was playing with at the time.

We had a "Just Dance" competition later (after the wine) and Carl was the undisputed winner which won him the title (coined by Juliette) Carlos Fandango.
