Wabbit

We almost never see rabbits at our house. Because, I suppose, dogs... So I was pleased when this one sat still, albeit facing away, this morning when we saw it on our walk. I like its eye.

The extra is a mama deer that stood still and watched me carefully as I took her photo. You can perhaps see that she must have a baby she's nursing hidden somewhere. I hope it's safe. The person who owns the hayfield up the road from our house has been having it cut yesterday and today. Often there are fawns hidden in the tall grass that don't survive such an event. This doe, though, wasn't in that particular field, so fingers crossed for her babe.
