Where are you?
We were watching a young Song Thrush, as it stood on the fence patiently waiting, presumably for a parent. Then we noticed another one on the grass below, also waiting, but not quite so patiently – it was chirruping. Eventually they flew to a tree. They actually looked old enough to fend for themselves, so maybe the parents were deliberately ignoring them.
We were delighted to see them anyway as we have a pair of Song Thrushes in the garden, often singing away. We have no idea where they nested. These young ones already have the beautiful markings of the adult, although they are still quite fluffy.
And for anyone who really wants to know – I think I solved the mystery of yesterday’s Inn name, or at least I found someone’s solution and I find it quite plausible. The link to the research done on this puzzle is here.
