Playtime with colours

I think cabin fever is setting in. I've been sleeping, reading, bathing, eating, drinking and now blipping today. Kitty came round for tea accompanied by her dog Stella and Helena roused me from my book to join them. After making a fire, I thought I would test out what is wrong with my 50mm lens and test whether my hunch was correct.

I was right. The error message I've been getting for ages didn't occur when I used the extension tubes that I was given recently. So I played with 50mm and two extension tubes, to see how it affected the focus point and whether I could handhold successfully. The answer to the last point is no, or at least not in the low light conditions of our sitting room, where the light from the coal fire is nearly the brightest source in the room.

But it was fun and I think I know what to explore next time. Meanwhile here are some colours that popped out of my playtime. While I was getting this image I was reminded of my interest in geodesic shapes, particularly platonic solids, when Kitty mentioned an art project her son is attempting. Helena then went to her secret supply of toys and got out the components which allow you to quickly make some geodesic shapes. I blipped them many moons ago . She is now determined to make something now before doing anything else such as the jigsaw, watching the complete Frasier DVDs , reading a book or listening to programmes about Beatrix Potter on the archive Radio 4 Extra. I think a drink and some telly is calling out to me. with a dry sherry or a gin and tonic to start. That decision might be the biggest problem of the day.
