Craster

Craster is rightly famous for its picturesque harbour, locally-caught crabs and the nearby dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle.

Earlier, we visited Alnwick, where the Market Place was a refuge from noisy roadworks and had a cafe serving delicious black pudding and tomato quiche. Barter Books, an immense secondhand bookshop in former station buildings is also worth a visit. As are Alnwick Castle and Gardens, which are for another day.
